Worth knowing
- Table title is 'Logan Pass opening and closing dates': 'opened' is the date Logan Pass (the alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road) opened to vehicles, not necessarily the whole road; the footnote marks on a row (openedMark/closedMark) change the meaning (partial openings, side closures, floods).
- The page's 2023 row is present but empty and nothing after 2022 is published in the table (last updated April 21, 2023); 2023-2024 have no row here.
- Years 1933-1951 give an opening date only; 1952-2022 give opening and closing. Closing dates are for the same calendar year as the row.
- 2026 events after the opening (not seasonal closures): alpine sections closed temporarily from 2:00 pm June 28 (heavy rain; Avalanche to Jackson Glacier Overlook), and again from 5:00 pm September 6; the September 9 release says the road reopened about 2 p.m. that day.
About this page
Dates are the park’s and WSDOT’s own, captured on 2026-10-05 and re-checked at every build. Medians and extremes are arithmetic on the published rows; we do not forecast. Weather closes passes without notice, so check live alerts for Glacier before you drive.
